One of the advantages of living in places like Nevada or the surrounding areas is that you have the beauty of the natural environment as your backdrop for photos. For her maternity session, Devon was inspired by the beauty of the Red Rock Canyons and wore red to be gender-neutral while staying in line with the colors of the backdrop. Drew is our first child and probably last lol!
Did you know what you were having?
We did not know what we were having. We wanted to be surprised.
How was your pregnancy?
My pregnancy was fabulous! No morning sickness at all! I was extremely tired during my first trimester, but that was it. No complaints!!

This was my first pregnancy. However, if we do decide to have another child I pray my second pregnancy is just like this one!
Many expectant moms have those crazy cravings! Did you experience any cravings?
Sweet, Salty, soft served ice cream, pickles, Popeyes sweet tea, and biscuits lol.
What was the inspiration for your maternity shoot? Did you have a theme, if so please describe?
We live in the desert so I really wanted to take advantage of the beautiful scenery. I knew for sure I wanted my husband to wear his uniform. Since we didn’t know the sex of the baby, I wanted to wear a gender-neutral color, which is why I chose red. I also wanted my dress to be over the top and match the red clay of the canyons.
What is your advice for expecting mothers/parents?
To enjoy every moment as well as capture as many moments as possible. Some moments may be tougher than others but time truly flies so enjoy it as much as you can!
