1) What was the inspiration for your shoot/s?
It was a celebration of our bundle of joy. We were so anxious to meet her and wanted to capture the last few months of me carrying her.
2) Share your baby’s birth story?
Her dad says “the birth of our daughter was amazing!” In fact, she is the only one that knows what my heart sounds like from the inside. I had a GREAT pregnancy, didn’t really feel my contractions. We went into the hospital at 6:05am, didn’t really go into active labor until about 1p and she made her way out on 1/22/14 @ 3:24p; 7lbs 3oz; 20 1/2 inches. The umbilical cord was wrapped around her neck twice, BUT GOD made sure he BLESSED her to see life. Special thanks to my WONDERFUL doctor, Dr. J Ward, her aid, and my husband helped deliver little Miss Skylar Leigh DuPree. My hubby actually recorded the entire birth while holding one of my legs and coaching me.
3) What is/was your first month with a new baby like?
We literally felt like zombies. There were times we would go without eating. We tried to sleep when she slept, but we would often stay awake and just stare at her. That first month we were still in shock that WE had a baby. #teamNOsleep
4) Describe her personality?
She is the happiest little girl! She is such a goof ball and calm when she is in chill mode.
5) What is your favorite baby product/
I LOVE throwing headbands on her when she rocks her Afro and colored rubber bands when I put her hair in ponytails.
6) How has motherhood/fatherhood changed you?
It has made us VERY ALERT!!! We can’t imagine our lives without her. She is 7 months and EXTREMELY active, so she keeps us on our toes. We are always think of her when making any decisions, SHE is our priority now. This tiny person that was made with love, we just want to give her the world.
7) What is your advice for new mothers/parents?
Always show your baby love, affection, and pay close attention to them. Initially it starts off rough, but remain patient and pray, things get easier and fun.
8) What is your biggest wish for you baby?
Our biggest wish is for her to grow up and be an intelligent, independent and successful woman that impacts the world in a positive way.
